By “fiscal warehouse” we mean a proper bonded warehouse. This service allows the warehousing of goods coming from outside the EU, thus meeting the needs of those economic operators who don’t know the final destination of the goods or of those who want to store these goods in a place for a certain period. The huge plus provided by the bonded warehouse is that the goods are not subjects to import duties.
The expression “Bonded Warehouse”, in Italian “Magazzino allo Stato Estero” or “Deposito Doganale”, is used to indicate a structure where, under the authorization of the customs officials with jurisdiction over the area, it is possible to store goods coming non-EU countries for an indefinite period of time. During this span of time, goods are subject to a system suspending import charges (art. 237 of the EU Regulation 952/2013 – UCC). This means that the payment of duties and VAT, the restraints and the taxes for the import of goods are suspended, as if the goods were still abroad. So, these remain negotiable until the goods are sent to another bonded warehouse or permanently imported and then sent to the final destination. This has important strategic advantages for the company who requested this regime. The proper Bonded Warehouse is devoted to goods coming from outside the EU (not released for free circulation in the EU) under the system suspending import charges and to the EU goods specified under the current legislation: therefore, they are subject to stringent norms. For reasons of clarity, we must specify that the Bonded Warehouse is not to be confused with a Fiscal or a VAT Warehouse.
In Fernetti, the warehouse area is located inside the freight terminal. This area is fenced, protected, and has video surveillance. We also have night security guards to patrol the area.
Thanks to this efficient infrastructure, Alfa Spedizioni can unload and store goods, also temporarily (as transit point), before they are sent to their final destination. This allows logistics operators to optimize times and costs.
